A               perennial               favorite               to               have               the               best               recruiting               class               in               the               nation,               Notre               Dame               will               be               no               exception               in               2008.

Already               this               year               the               school               has               received               commitments               from               over               a               dozen               top               high               school               prospects.

Among               the               best               of               these               blue               chip               recruits               are               Dayne               Crist               (QB),               Kyle               Rudolph               (TE),               and               John               Goodman               (WR).

Dayne               Crist               (QB):
               With               the               verbal               commitment               of               Dayne               Crist,               the               Fighting               Irish               have               gotten               commitments               from               yet               another               blue               chip               quarterback               recruit.

Notre               Dame               which               last               year               landed               Jimmy               Clausen,               the               nation's               top               quarterback               recruit               in               2007,               seems               set               for               the               near               future               with               the               addition               of               Crist.

This               6-5,               220               pound               prospect               is               a               major               talent,               who               has               great               arm               strength,               mobility,               and               the               ideal               size               you               look               for               in               a               quarterback.

Despite               his               size               Dayne               is               capable               of               running               a               4.6               40,               which               provides               an               added               dimension               to               his               passing.

While               his               arm               has               never               been               questioned,               Crist               still               needs               a               little               more               polish               and               consistency.

Intense,               competitive,               and               intelligent,               this               prospect               is               no               slouch               in               the               classroom               either,               where               a               good               GPA               and               a               1710               SAT               score               make               him               an               ideal               student-athlete.

An               All-State               selection               as               a               junior,               despite               having               suffered               through               a               horrific               back               injury               during               the               season               opener,               Crist               exhibits               the               heart               and               leadership               you               want               to               see               in               a               quarterback.

A               product               of               a               good               football               program               at               Sherman               Oaks               Notre               Dame               HS,               Crist               has               been               a               starter               since               part               way               through               his               sophomore               year               when               he               replace               heralded               passer               Garrett               Green,               after               Green               suffered               an               injury.

Playing               at               Sherman               Oaks,               a               school               that               recently               ran               off               a               35               game               winning               streak,               Crist               is               set               to               have               a               fantastic               senior               season.
               Kyle               Rudolph               (TE):
               Even               among               a               good               recruiting               class               at               Tight               End               the               6-6,               230               pound               Rudolph               stands               out.

Kyle               has               all               the               attributes               you               want               to               see               in               a               Tight               End,               including               speed,               good               hands               and               great               concentration.

He               is               an               all               around               athlete               that               not               only               won               Second               Team               All-State               honors               in               football,               but               won               First               Team               honors               in               basketball               as               well.

His               athletic               abilities               allow               him               to               make               tough               acrobatic               catches.

Yet               Kyle               is               not               one               dimensional               on               the               football               field,               as               he               is               a               good               blocker               as               well.

Though               his               school,               Elder               High               School               in               Cincinnati               suffered               through               a               6-4               season               last               year,               Rudolph               remained               a               highly               sought               after               prep               star               who               has               received               offers               from               such               (other)               big               name               programs               as               Michigan               and               Ohio               State.

Look               for               Kyle               to               have               another               excellent               season,               possibly               bulking               up               a               bit               to               get               ready               for               college               competition.
               John               Goodman               (WR):
               Despite               lacking               the               type               of               speed               you               would               expect               from               a               highly               recruited               receiver               (4.7               in               the               40),               John               Goodman               still               has               deceptive               speed               out               in               the               football               field,               which               makes               the               6-3               senior               a               deep               threat               at               Bishop               Dwenger               High               School               in               Fort               Wayne               Indiana.

Goodman               had               an               impressive               junior               year               in               which               he               made               44               catches               and               score               9               touchdowns               while               averaging               over               19               yards               a               catch.

Not               afraid               to               make               the               tough               catches               over               the               middle,               Goodman               runs               precise               routes               and               is               a               lot               tougher               than               his               185               pound               frame               would               indicate.

Spurring               away               interest               from               Michigan               and               Indiana,               John               was               one               of               the               first               recruits               to               commit               to               Notre               Dame               for               2008.
